Respectable Names

Hi there ! *does a turning spin* Yep! As you can visualize its really me.. I know .. I was in a blog slump again! I like to write when I have something worth sharing .. not just write .. to post everyday.. for those of you who come and check this blog for anything new faithfully.. I salute and respect you !! Speaking of respect this brings me to my blog post idea ...

I recently read a article in the newspaper.. was it a Dear Abby column or a local community column.. of where in the paper I dont recall however the topic was the improperness of addressing a group of mixed genders as " You guys". Much opinion was expressed in this
article for how women were finding more and more offense to be referred to as "you guys".

As I read this article , I found myself cringing for I too have greeted a room of mixed genders as " hi you guys" .. not once did I think it to be offending the ladies of the room. As I continued on further in this article I thought .. isnt it a bit turn of the tables.. or ironic .. or whatever you would prefer to label it .. that for as much toil and effort women of society have put toward breaking the glass ceiling there would be such fuss made over the collective " you guys" greeting. Does it threaten the idenity of a woman to be addressed in that manner??

One more example of how the power of words can effect a persons feelings. I can think of many far worse words that have been applied to address the female population of our planet that would no doubt be quite offensive .. but I struggle to see in the approach of a collective group greeting how "you guys" should be taken harshly. How about you ? Does your opinion differ
I'm not saying my opinion is right .. or wrong .. its just .. my opinion. What's yours?

Todays Poem:

See a crowd , greet hello
but just how, I do not know
Hiya folks might play it safe
but if not all parents .. then its too late

Hey there friends could work I assume
unless their all strangers that fill the room
Greetings peeps could fit fairly well
chatting with Easter chicks in a padded cell

Salutations Society!! You could say with a smile
but the time for reply could take quite a while
I guess its the best , although not exciting or fun
to simply address and say " Hello Everyone! "

Thank you for reading.

Routine Change

Hello!

We all have had change in our lives at one time or another ... Change our clothes , Change of hairstyle or color , Change of mind, Change of season, even Change in our pocket! However, despite it being only mid February fate as found me adapting to a new change in life.

For the past two years .. and then some.. I have spent a good portion of my morning in a pleasant online voice chat with one of my very best friends, Jaycatt. We've talked about everything from politics to puddytats .. from Second Life to Real life .. its been a tradition,
a routine, a blessing. Due to some wonderful new additions in Jays real life .. our morning chat time is in for a change.. today was our last morning to skype chat and I nearly missed it
battling with the tech support of cable company. We will still talk .. whenever life allows us to fit the time in .. but its a change. One I cant help but feel a little meloncoly for .

I've recently gone back to work, its a part time job, hardly any hours .. but after being the stay at home mom for all this time .. it too is a change ... I dont mind change I think.. it just takes a little time to adjust to the difference of what was once felt the norm.

What is it we seek when we implement change.. is it a fresh perspective.. a new path to travel,
what is it some of us fight when change is implemented on us .. is it a loss for the way it was .. a reluctance to alter our path.. Sometimes change is good , and sometimes when its not .. you just have to look for the brightside of what the change will bring.

I hope whatever change your life aquires, may it always leave you smiling.

Todays Poem:

I share my home with a creature so unique
we get along quite nicely although we seldom speak
Its really such a special one but far from one of a kind
you see its fellow creatures almost anytime

It's eyes are big and round its hair can grow quite long
others of this creature seem as if their hair is gone!
It roams my house thoroughly studying all in its sight
it's favorite spots for which to go are those of great and mighty heights

It's days are spent just sleeping but it works out allright
for it keeps a watchful guard from the end of my bed at night
How lucky I am to have him, who loves me thin of fat,
one things sure that I can say, I will always love my cat!!
