journal rambles

I have been neglectful once more in my postings of this blog. It's ironic in that blogs are views and comments on times of life and lately its life thats left no time to blog :)

Todays entry I'll forewarn is a ramble in every sense of the word.. I have been asked ( surprising to me ) to post more from the journal I kept on my journey to
Sydney last fall. So proceed at your own risk.. as I ramble about events I found
amusing in process of my trip.

" I am on the plane bound for Los Angeles, its roughly 7 30 p.m. chicago time thats ...( you can do the Math for EST ) the layover in Chicago I'm blessed to say didn't seem bad at all. A woman came and sat close by where I had claimed a seat, she was a friendly sort, chatting with anyone who'd reply. She had observed me taking pictures out the window and had wondered just what I was taking snapshots of. Apparently seasoned travlers no longer feel that "WOW" factor to click pics of the huge planes that to and fro in front of you during the wait. I explained I was getting shots of the plane. This oviously must have been a tell tale sign .. and I felt the big green NEWBIE arrow tunking my head for she and several others in hearing range all looked at me ratherly oddly.

As this woman and I got to chatting , because she was friendly and I like to ramble, I found out she'd come from North Carolina and was nearing the end of her six hour layover (yikes) she asked if I was staying in LA or moving on from there. My mind races... all the prowarnings of dont give out info to strangers pinging my thoughts but I answered and said "moving on " she said "ME TOO! ". I just smiled. what does one say to a stranger who has the same travel itenary? She asked "Are you going overseas?" .. again not wanting to be rude but not wanting to be too informative I come back with my linguistically impressive " Yeah". she said " ME TOO! ". Again.. I smiled. She asked "where?" .. I say "australia" she said " ME TOO!" this is getting to be rather amusing as her enthusiasm for our similiarites was growing to such levels she was literally bouncing in her seat with anticipation for the replys to her quearys. She said " what part" .. thinking this would be the last of the questions I would answer without giving way too much info I said a rather curt " Sydney" and about choked holding back the laughter when she quite vocally dejected said " Awww Im Melbourne" hahaha.

She wandered away to mingle with others .. apparently Id out lasted her interest in conversing with me .. I passed the time doing my word search puzzle book and I know Im new but I was totally fascinated with the plane traffic out the window. I think of all the souls on each one coming and going... people going to and fro for business or were they like me taking a scary but exciting adventure, or in the case of the staff, just another day at the office. With a little imagination I was quite entertained till the time rolled round for boarding :)

I now can say I've been on a cruise boat, a luxury train, and a airplane, and where they all have pro's and con's for traveling and space to move, I liked the train most. However I do admit I am really enjoying the views ive been getting on the flights. My seat this flight is 13 F . a number I wasn't wild about but its turned out okay as I am close enough to the window seat in front of me , I can still see out the sunset is SPECTACULAR!!

End journal ramble

Todays poem:

Todays poem has no themed relation to the days post.. but its one I dont think I've yet shared in this blog, its a bit sad, but hope you enjoy it just the same. TY

A Special Love

She sat in the chair with a smile on her face
the source of her joy noone could trace
She was lost in fond memories of a special love shared
with a man who enjoyed showing he cared

the walk in the park
the movie in the dark
she remembers the days their filled with such joy
she remembers the fair he won her a toy

she remembers the nights
their filled with such passion
she remembers the the parties
the fun they had crashin'

she remembered the night
he sweetly proposed
on the way home
she had asked him to go slow

he turned to give
a small kiss to his mate
and when he turned back
it was too late

he swerved to avoid
hitting the car
but he'd turned the wheel
a little too far

the tree came up fast
and hit oh so hard
where was the girl
she'd been thrown from the car

she looked up and saw
the rose that he'd gave her
still clutched in his fingers
his very last favor

She stood up and sighed
with tears in her eyes
and placed a rose
by her loves side

then she closed the top
of the coffin that day
to seal a special love shared
then taken away.
